Good Morning and Happy Thursday!!
I try not to post about personal info but I feel I need to let you all know what was going on with my son. Last Oct., he suddenly became seriously ill and not one Dr. could tell me what was wrong with him or stop all the pain he was in. After 2 weeks of being in 2 different hospitals and a battery of tests; I decided to take matters into my own hands with God's guidance of course!! I did some research about his pain and discovered Shingles. I took away all the pain pills they had given him and started him on a natural healing regime for this illness. We gave him vitamins, herbs and different detox teas....the difference was truly miraculous!! Within one day of taking the herbal form of Cayenne, my child no longer felt tremendous pain. I watched him grow stronger and stronger everyday with the pain being less & less. I can very happily say that after almost 3 months of misery; he is now pain free, extremely happy and back in school. October and part of November was very hard on us but now we're happy and everyone's healthy!!!!!
Onto my card now.....my brain is fried, I'm exhausted and haven't created anything new since making my class projects! This creation was for the Technique Lovers Challenge over on SCS. When I made this card, I truly had no idea of what the outcome would be. I don't think I did too bad although the shape came out a bit odd LOL!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day! I hope to get some more rest and make something new & pretty!!!
TTFN,
Hugs,
Good for you! GOD is truly the best. A friend of ours was just diagnosed with Shingles (he's 71) and I had a family member who had it. NOT FUN! You are truly a fantastic MOM!
ReplyDeleteAnd a fantastic crafter. Your work is superb and this is beautiful. I haven't attempted the dahlia fold yet. One of these days.
Have a great day.

OMGosh...I am so glad your son in getting better...PRAISE GOD! Shingles is nothing to mess with and is very painful...poor thing! I am not a big western medicine person in general...hate all the chemical "treatments," so I applaud you for taking matters into your own hands and using spiritual wisdom and guidance to make him better. Keep a close eye on him, I know that Shingles is not always a one-time thing! Next time, let me know so that my Disciple group can pray for him...I will add him to our prayer list this coming Tuesday if you don't mind!
ReplyDeleteOn another Note...Your card is STUNNING! Great Job! TFS Girlfriend!

Jackie, your card is fabulous, love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteHad I told you my DH has had Shingles since Dec.3rd? He too has had a rough time with the pain which is not under control for the most part. Because of his age and other health issues, he is being seen at The Center for Pain Management. So glad your son is better and pray he continues that way.
Hugs,
Barb
Hi Jackie! first time I've visited your blog I think! I see you all the time on SCS - so sorry to hear about your son and how wonderful that you were able to figure out how to help him! Sometimes those things can be very elusive!
ReplyDeleteI love your dahlia fold! beautiful colors on this pretty card!
This is beautiful. Glad to hear that your son is doing better. I can't imagine going through all that. Hold onto your faith because it will get you through it. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteEven more beautiful is the blessings God gives us. I'm glad to hear your son is pain free!
So glad you son is better. My DH has had shingles several time, (in his case it was caused by stress, so he has also de-stressed his lifestyle and it has not returned again). I can imagine what you and your family have been through. I wish you all love and healing thoughts from across the Atlantic.
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning! I have that stamp set and you have inspired me to get it out again:)

Jackie, this is absolutely stunning. I think you did a fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Let go, let God! One thing I know for certain is he is always there and always gives us exactly what we need, when we need it. He gave you the knowledge and courage to make the changes for your sons' health.
ReplyDeleteYour card rocks! I love those colors together - stunning! Aren't those Dahlia folds fun? Great job!
Beautiful! I love that little ribbon sticking out of the dahlia folded flower.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear your son is doing better. Thank God, you went with your instincts!
ReplyDeleteOnto the beautiful card, I love the flower! It's gorgeous!!! not odd at all!
Sometimes we know our kids better than Dr's do. I'm glad you found something to help.
ReplyDeleteHey I never asked, what did you think of the birthday cards your kids made?
Love the Dahlia fold!
First of all, the card is gorgeous. I tried that daliah fold one time and my pieces didn't match up when I was done folding. Straight into the recycling bin!
ReplyDeleteGood news about your son. Sometimes I don't think doctors listen very well to what we tell them. I was very very sick last winter. I was in the hospital three times, I saw numerous doctors. Each one of them gave me a new medicine. I was taking so many that I had to keep a schedule as to what to take and when to take it. But I also was going through days where I couldn't sleep at all followed by days that I couldn't stay awake. When I started hallucinating, hubby took me to the ER and they said it's no wonder I was such a mess because I was on so many mediciations! One of which it turns out I was allergic to. The doctor suggested I go off every single one of them. I did, then stuck with my echinacea and vitamin C routine and I finally started getting better. Sometimes we do better trying to heal ourselves.
Jackie, that's awesome! I'm so glad you found a good and natural way to help him deal with his shingles! I have them too and they are painful - healing from the inside out and aren't pretty in the meantime! Stress causes mine but mine do require meds! I wish I could go his route but am glad he can! Love your card too! It's GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteTerrific card! I love the colors and the dalhia fold is just gorgeous. I am so happy to hear that your son is doing well. It is so traumatic when a child is ill and in pain. Thank God for your inner guidance to do what was needed. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card.....I wish I could do the folds, seems I'm "all thumbs"!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear that all is better with your son. Don't ever fret about telling us your personal stuff...that is what we are here for. All of our prayers help you and your family :) Very exquisite card. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear your son is feeling better. I love your card! The dahlia fold is gorgous!
ReplyDeleteLovely Dahlia fold card!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you took matters into your own hands - I think there's really something to that non-traditional medicine! Good for you, and glad your son's feeling better!
Great Dahlia fold, I am terrible at that technique!
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I am glad your son is better. This card is just fabulous, Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteJackie, just got to my blog and found your address to write again. So good to know that your son is much better; having the shingles, which I did several years ago, is such a painful experience. Did anyone recommend a vaccination, or he is too young to receive one? Since I'm partial to red, black, and white, this card is wonderful and so creative. How did you make the flower? Have a happy week and may God continue to bless you and your family throughout 2009, Gigi
