Etsy Blog Hop Sketch & Prize

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Etsy Blog Hop & my very first challenge! A little info about me: My name is Jacquel Bowman aka Jackie and I'm super excited to be a part of the Etsy Design Team!! I've been married to my highschool sweetheart for 16 years and I'm a SAHM to 3 wonderful children--Reginald Jr., Brandon & Bianca. I was introduced to stamping 3 years ago and instantly became an addict---I signed up about 3 months after picking up my first SU! stamp!! I truly enjoy sharing my passion with others & I'm thrilled that Ashley wanted me to be a part of her awesome team!!!

This is my card/challenge for you today! I'm having problems uploading so my sketch isn't here but if you follow my card and the examples below; you should be fine!! My challenge is for you to make a card using this sketch AND the colors of your card must be inspired from the designer paper you use. So, if your paper is red, orange and yellow--*gasp*--those must be the colors of your card!! Easy peasy right!!!
This is the prize that you have the chance to win by playing in my challenge. A $20 Gift Certificate to Lovely Supplies. She has *tons* of goodies in her store so I'm sure you'll have lots of fun shopping LOL!!! How do you win you ask? Make your card/creation according to the rules I posted above and link it up here. Don't have a blog, but upload to places like Splitcoaststampers or Paper Craft Planet? Leave me a comment letting me know and be sure and use the keywords EICJAC when you upload so I can find your creations. Have your cards/creations completed and uploaded by Tuesday, March 3rd at Midnight PST & I'll announce the winner on March 4th with a random drawing.
This is Shannon's awesome card for my sketch! I think she may have been spying on me because our cards are so similar LOL! I love it...especially the dp she used---awesome work Shannon!!!
This is Ashley's card for my sketch! Look at that gorgeous dp she used...isn't it pretty! I love the color scheme too....very yummy!! Excellent work Ashley....I *heart* those dew drops too!!!!

I'm going to take the next couple of days off from blogging because my son is having all 4 of his wisdom teeth removed today and I will be taking care of him. I will be checking my comments to see your beautiful work though, so don't think I'll be completely slacking off!! I will post again on Tuesday/Wednesday so be sure and check back to see if you're the winner!

Thank you so much for stopping by and playing in my very first challenge! I truly appreciate it and can't wait to see what you create!! Have a great rest of the day and a wonderful weekend!!!

Last Swap Card......

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!

Don't you just love it when you're stumped on how to make/create something and when you find the perfect sketch; everything just falls into place?!! That's how I feel about this card & sketch everyone. I was at a total loss when it came to creating my cards for a demo group swap that I participate in.....thank goodness I remembered this blog---Card Sketch A Day---and I was sooo elated when the page opened and there was *my sketch* I instantly knew what I was going to do and set out to get these babies done!!

I used Just Buzzin' By--courtesy of my friend/downline Teresa...thank you!!! I also used my eyelet border & heart to heart punches along with my scalloped edge punch. I wasn't sure which sentiment to use with these cute lil' bees---I know, I'm lazy and wanted to use a punch instead of stamping and cutting out the sentiment that came with the set--so I just used one from the level 2 hostess set A Little Somethin'. I added some glitter to my bees & *looked* for a space to put ribbon---love that stuff and I like to use it on all my cards. This layout didn't *gel* with ribbon though so I reluctantly left it off. I think my card is still cute and I hope the ladies like them also!!

Well, I have some running to do today & I'm going to get my hair done! I've been looking forward to this for quite a while----some me time!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

Scary Colors Card.....

Good Morning and Happy Hump Day to you!

This card is for a pretty scary color challenge on SCS. I didn't exactly think of Halloween when I read the colors--purple, green and orange but my kiddos did LOL! I was more concerned with how I was going to pull this off so I threw in a tad of black and added some crystal effects to my flowers for the *wow* or should I say *calming* effect. I had to have some ribbon on this basic layout of mine and I do believe that *finished* my creation!!

Off to work now---laundry, house cleaning, wrapping up my last swap & a secret exchange....fun, fun!! Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a great rest of the day!!!

Demo Swap Card #2

Good Morning and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend and that you had the opportunity to relax a bit before heading off into another work week.

Today's card is for the demo swap I'm in. This is my second set and I do hope the ladies like what I'm sending in. I used a pretty basic layout with some yummy ribbon and edged my second layer with the eyelet border punch---I really love that thing! The colors are fab too albeit a little challenging without a real sketch to follow!!

Well, I'm off to get the kiddos ready for school......thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Sketchy Easter Hello

Good Sunday Morning! I hope your weekend is going well and that you're getting a chance to relax & enjoy some quiet time.

My post for today is for an old sketch from SCS. I really like this one for it's ability to use your dp scraps.......gotta love that right?!! I also used an image I received from Wish-RAK and colored it with my SU! markers.....those mice are adorable but only in a stamped image LOL!!

Hopefully I'll have time to create today amongst the laundry and re-cleansing of my stamp area.....yes, I'm purging again and feeling pretty good about it too!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Double Design Team Post

Happy Saturday Everyone!
As you can see, my blog is kind of full today LOL! I hope it doesn't scare you away.....
My first card is for Jazzy Inspirations and we had to base our cards off the album posted above using the colors: pumpkin pie, rose red, elegant eggplant & kraft. We could also use white if we wanted to but Idecided to use very vanilla because I felt that it calmed these dangerous colors down LOL!! I had to use my fave set Heartfelt Thanks after seeing these colors because I feel that this set makes any color combination beautiful. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pic but I also stamped the purple using En Francais....I think it came out very elegant. As far as the sketch, I used Jen's SFYTT. Check it out and play along with us.....if I can make a card with these colors; I know you can!!!!!

This week we're featuring Angel Food Etsy's Shop. Aren't these some delicious looking cookies? They're so beautiful and yummy looking that I had to choose this pic as my inspiration piece for this week's Etsy Design post!!! I saw the colors in these gorgeous things and thought about Mercy's sketch too....what a nice combo!! Thanks Mercy! Wanna play with us? Browse through her SHOP, pick a picture to use as your inspiration & post on Ashley's blog. Very simple and I hope to see your pretty creations this week!!
Be sure and check out the rest of the design team's work and leave them some love. Keep next Saturday on your mind....we're having our blog hop with challenges & prizes! I'm sure everyone loves goodies so be sure to come play with us. Here's the links for you:
Sara--February Guest Designer

I bought an Ott Lite yesterday. I'm going to play with it's positioning a bit more but overall I think my pics look better in this light.....any opinions would be appreciated. Well, I need to get last minute details ready for my downline meeting today. I appreciate you stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

Love You Much Swap Card

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
I really need to get one of those ott lites. I apologize for this picture....dreery day with rain and then snow. Just couldn't get the lighting right to save my life!!

Anywhoo, I made a few cards but can't post them just yet. Be sure to tune in this weekend for my second Etsy Design Team post & my Jazzy Inpirations card. We'd love to have you play along with us...a hint; a pretty *challenging* color challenge for Jazzy Inspirations and some yummy things to tempt your tummy for Etsy! Sound fun...make sure you come back Saturday morning!!!!

Onto this card I posted! It will be for a demo swap that I'm in. I cased myself for this one....just changed the color scheme and used my new fave punch---eyelet border!!! You can also see that I'm really trying to use the last of that bright paper that I bought LOL! I do like this pattern though, not too bad at all!!

Well, off to get the kiddos going and prepare to babysit. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Mojo 74 Easter Wishes

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Despite being super busy, I managed to create something new yesterday before I ran up to the Oral Surgeon's place. This card is for Mojo Monday on Julee's Mojo blog. I love the sketch....not too crazy about this bright paper but it does work for Easter! Looking @ the ribbon in this picture, it seems totally off. It does match in real life LOL! I thoroughly enjoyed coloring that chick and glitzing up his egg---love the dazzling diamonds glitter!!

As you know we went for our consulation yesterday and he said exactly what I thought he would....he has to surgically remove all 4 wisdom teeth. Poor kid, they'll have to put him out and he'll have dissolvable stitches in his mouth. The top ones are already bothering him so we can't wait that long....he goes back on the 28th of this month. I'm thinking even though this will be done on a Saturday and there's no school on that Monday; he may miss a day or two of school depending on his level of pain.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Sketch card.....

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! Busy, busy, busy....that's me today so I'm showing you a card I made that I truly admire.

This was for a sketch challenge and sort of took a mind of it's own once I got started. I have a problem with *not* layering and as you can see; it was hard to stop! I kept looking at it and thinking "it needs something else" so I added the crystal effects to the DSP, punched the brads through because I felt that it needed those, added ribbon---didn't really see where I was going to put that at first and finally the pearl. This card is HEAVY LOL!! I think I keep it as a reminder as to what not to do!!!

I'm off to start my hectic day....oldest DS is having his first trip to the Oral Surgeon & it's not local. I'm thinking he's going to suggest removing those wisdoms....hope I'm wrong but I just have that feeling. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Embrace Life.....

Good Morning and Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend....I'm enjoying an extra day off from school duty although I do have a class today. Fun, fun!!!

This card was for a color challenge to use tempting turquoise, gable green and kraft. These colors freaked me out but as I got the layout together, I threw in a bit of black and was quite pleased with the final result. Don't you just love a challenge that makes you step outside your comfort zone?!!

Well, I'm off to start my day and get ready for my girls to show up. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Picture tagged.....

Good Sunday Morning! I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine's day....mine was really great!!

I was picture tagged about a week ago by a few peeps and since I was gone all day yesterday, I thought today would be the perfect day to post it. I had to go to my 6th folder & pick the 6th picture and tell you about it:

My 6th picture is one of my daughter Bianca. I took this pic of her while she was waiting on the Kindergarten bus 3 years ago so that makes her 5 years old in this pic. She loves to pose and play for the camera & she also used to love being in front of my flower garden so this was a natural for her! I'm not sure what I love more about this picture---her natural playful self or my flowers!! It's great to go back down memory lane isn't it.....thanks for the tag ladies!!

Now I'm supposed to tag some people but I want to share with everyone! If you want, take this tag and pass it along to all your friends. Let's see what beautiful pics you want to share!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

Pretty in Pink...

Good Thursday Morning! The week is almost over and I'm looking forward to a very nice weekend with DH!!

My card for today is another oldie that I made. If I'm not mistaken, this one was for the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS. Loved the layout and I was in a pink sort of mood so I went with what popped in my head. I had to muttle up the background on this one as well---told you it was addicting! I ended up sending this card to a friend of mine that lost her mom....it did cheer her up so I'm thankful for that.

My daughter's party is this afternoon and I'm going to spend the rest of my morning working on my Etsy card. Hope you all tune in to check it out along with the other design team's work. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Tax Time....

Happy Hump Day Everyone!
As my title suggests, it's that time of year and I spent yesterday putting together my spreadsheet for our accountant. Here's a LATE resolution I've made for myself: I'm not going to wait 'til the last minute to do this anymore!!! I've already started on this year's sheet so I'm ahead of the game....and I'll be much happier this time next year too!!

Since I had no time to create anything new, I'm showing you one of my faves that I made last year. This card is for an Inspiration Challenge on SCS and I used the colors from the photo as my mojo starter. I never thought that Sahara Sand & Soft Sky would look this great together but it really does! I had to ink up my cuttlebugged piece to take away some of the starkness and found out that I LOVE to distress the embossed pieces....kind of messy but cute!!

I hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane. I'm off to get the kiddos going, work out, freshen up and head over to our accountant's office. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Pacific Point Beauty

Happy Tuesday!
Don't you just love this new color from SU! Pacific Point?!! I do, especially paired with some white....delish combo! While I was brainstorming on what to make, my eyes kept going to this color in my scrapbox---yes, this entire card is made out of scrap stash....aren't you proud of me?!! I didn't go over board with tons of layers like I usually do but I think the finished product is pretty elegant. The stamped script background, eyelet border punch, whisper white taffeta ribbon & the Fresh Cuts ss all tied together so nicely. I really do like the outcome and hope you do too!!

Well, it's time to get busy peeps so I better get to it! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Kiddos' Valentines

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend....mine was productive to say the least!!

My younger 2 children wanted to make treats for their classmates this year and after discussing our options we settled upon pillow boxes stuffed with Laffy Taffy. I went through my retired designer papers, pulled out the Big Shot, stamps & ink and let them have at it! They had so much fun using the Big Shot & folding the pillow boxes....I didn't help at all either!!! I let them do everything...even the stamping and punching out the tags. I supervised from a distance---they were too busy talking and laughing so I wasn't worried about anything! They have watched me use that baby a few dozen times and have asked more questions than anyone I've ever met in my life LOL!! I'm so happy that they enjoyed making these treats & now it's time to get crackin' on the teacher gifts. Brandon & Bianca will be decorating mailboxes.....can't wait to see how they come out!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

My card for today features the Color Throwdown Challenge to use chocolate chip, pink pirouette & riding hood red and the layout is from Sketch Saturday. I LOVE combining challenges....takes all the hard work out of the thinking process!! Thanks for the great challenges ladies!

Now for my announcement: I made the design team for Etsy Inspired!!! I LOVE inspiration challenges so this was right up my alley.....sooo looking forward to working with everyone on the DT! Stay tuned for my first DT post this coming weekend!!!
