Paper Players Sketch Creation

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday!!

My post for today is featuring the sketch from the Paper Players Challenge.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I would be using it to make a few swap cards to take with me this weekend....thanks for the help ladies!!!

My creation is also featuring some new goodies that will be available in the upcoming SU! catalog in July:  Four Frames stampset & Paisley Petals DSP.  I must say that the Four Frames is quickly becoming a fave because it coordinates with the Designer Label punch....I'll be using it quite a bit!!!!  I tried using a monochromatic theme but ended up adding black to it because I felt it needed an anchor.  I must say that I really like it with the black....it adds that extra oomph that I was looking for!  I hope you enjoy it as well!!!

Well, I need to get started on a different set of swaps so I'm off to work!  Thanks so much for stopping by & have a great rest of the day!!!
Until Next Time,
Hugs & Love,

Funky Fold Challenge Card

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I have a fun & quick post for you today!  I do hope you enjoy it!!!!!

I'm part of a monthly swap group & one of the cards I received this month utilized that fantastic *funky fold* you see!! As I was studying it, I knew that I wanted to try & recreate it but I wasn't sure which colors I was going to use......well, that was all laid to rest when I stopped by my friend Anne Marie's blog & I saw her post about The Paper Players color challenge to use Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride & Very Vanilla.  These colors are beautiful together & I truly enjoyed adding shimmer mist, pearls & texture to my creation---I'm so addicted to texture....I think I add it to just about everything!!!  I just LOVE it when all the elements I'm working with come together nicely because it makes creating sooooo much easier LOL!!!!

Well, that's it for today!  I need to get my day started so I'm off!!!  Thanks so much for stopping by & have a great rest of the day!!
Until Next Time,

Etsy Inspiration #130--Artwork by Lori

Good Morning!!
What a week I've had with Dr. appts, concerts & lawyers.....my creative time was seriously hampered but I'm glad to have something for you today!!!!!

It's Saturday so that means that there's another Etsy challenge for you!  Our featured shop is called Artwork by Lori & it features original painting and prints by Lori!  Sit back, relax & take a stroll through her other stores as well:  The Royal Bead & Hip Heart.  Lori is giving away one of her awesome prints (valued up to $14) to one of our awesome players & our sponsor Charleston Scrapbook Company is offering a $10 Gift Certificate to another fortunate player!!!!  Want to get in on these fab prizes?  Just visit the featured store, pick your inspiration, make whatever your heart desires & link it to the EtsyInspired Challenge blog by Friday, March 18, 2011 @ noon Pacific Time.

I chose the Flower Circles Painting as the source of my inspiration.  The colors in it reminded me of the Sale-a-Bration DSP so this was the perfect excuse to break it open & play with it!!  I also used the layout from CPS Card Sketches to help pull my creation together.  One of the stampsets I used is the Level 1 Hostess set called A Slice of Life.  There are some cute & *colorable* images in it that I couldn't wait to create with!  I do LOVE to color even though I feel I'm not perfect at it yet but I had a LOT of fun putting all the elements together for this card!!  I do hope you've enjoyed my creation & that I've inspired you to play along with us!  For even more inspiration; please check out the rest of the Design Team & leave them some love:

Our featured shop is called Desired Things.  Leigh's store showcases contemporary handmade jewelry & mixed media artwork.  Her work is quite lovely so I'm sure you won't have a problem finding your perfect piece!!  She is generously offering one of our players a 10 pound voucher which equals $16 US dollars to her store & our sponsor Sparkle Creations is giving away one of her cute stamps to another lucky player!  For your chance to win, just visit the shop, pick your inspiration, make whatever your heart desires & link it to the EtsyInspired Challenge Blog by next Friday, March 11 @ noon Pacific Time.

I chose the pink & black necklace & this week's Mojo sketch as the sources of my inspiration!  I also used an oldie but goodie SU! set called Bubble Queen to help pull this baby together!!  I had so much fun coloring that image in & adding glitter to those bubbles---you can even see it in the photo so I'm really happy!!!!!!  After adding a bit of texture & spritzing my black piece with some shimmer paint; I am quite pleased with the end result!  I do hope that I've inspired you to play along with us and for even more AWESOME eye candy; check out the rest of the Design Team & leave them some love:

Happy 11th Birthday Bianca!!!!!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!
Just as the title of my post says, today is my daughter's 11th birthday!  Time sure does fly.....it seems like only yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital & now she's almost a teenager!!!!!  We'll be having a nice celebration for her today & I still have a few items to finish so without further adu.......

I played along with Cupcake Inspirations today since those cupcakes are Bianca's favorite color.  I kept my layout simple & clean because that's how she likes her cards.  I did add just a bit of ink to the embossed background---that empty space was screaming my name LOL!!!!  I also used crystal effects on the cupcakes and I know that she's going to LOVE that....can't wait to see her face!!!!!

That's all for now!!  Thanks so much for stopping by & I'll be back on Saturday with my Etsy post!!!
