You catch it & move on.....
Good Early Evening Stamping Friends,
As the title to my post says...we've been thrown a curve ball but we're not letting that stop us! What's the curve ball....we put in an offer on a home, negotiated, got an accepted offer & then we went through the inspection. This home failed inspection & we started over since the owners didn't want to deal with their watery basement. Second home....same process--a problem was found, we negotiated the *fixing* of this issue & we were looking forward to closing and moving in. Well, we did the pre-inspection and everything looked good but we both had a funny feeling because the shower didn't look *new*.....the next day @ closing; we ask for the *proof* that the leak was taken care of as well as the damage to the dining room ceiling.....she couldn't produce ANYTHING!!!!!!!!! The only thing she did was paint the dining room ceiling & put new caulk in the shower. She said it wasn't a big deal & what were we going to do...not move? I couldn't get the words out of my mouth fast enough before my husband said, "NO, we're not buying your home...this closing is off!"
We were in disbelief @ this lady's attitude but the look on her face when we got up to leave....that's all that mattered! We're very upset about the wasted $$ on inspections, appraisals, attorney fees...we did get our earnest $$ back but still the disappointment is REAL!!!!!
Now we're living amongst a sea of boxes & chaos...continuing to look but haven't found the *one* yet & we're going to hope that the third time is a charm! There are a lot more homes coming on the market now so we'll just keep our eyes peeled to the listings & think positive thoughts going forward...
I will be glad with this is all over & we can settle in and act like a normal family again! I never would've thought in a million years that we would have this type of experience but I guess there's all kinds of people out there.
Thank you for hanging in there with me & I will update you as soon as I'm able to again...
Until Next Time,
Hugs & Love,
Wishing you good luck in your house hunting. It's a struggle, I know, but you'll get there in the end.
ReplyDeleteHi! I loved seeing that you posted on your blog. I have missed your posts and your beautiful cards that you create! (But completely understand why you are not crafting and blogging). I hope that you find a house you love soon. Take care!

ReplyDeleteOh Jackie you poor thing! That is just unbelievable...wish I could have seen her face though! I'm sure it was priceless! I've been wondering what's been going on with the house situation. Well you'll always have a place in our home when you're finally all settled ;) The team misses you!

Oh, Jackie! So sorry for what you are going through. The best is yet to come! It was good to see a post from you.
ReplyDeleteI so totally feel your pain, Jackie. When we bought this house the inspection came up fine... 2 months later the pump fell to the bottom of the well. They knew the pump was going. We now understand 'motivated to sell'. Avoid those listings like the plague. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe right house for you will come along when the time is right. Just breathe and remember good things come to those who wait. Hugs! Kel
Hi Jackie! I was thinking of you and thought I would hop by and say hello. I miss seeing your beautiful cards on your blog.....but definitely understand all that you have going on. Just know that your creations are missed :-) They are so inspiring. Take care.
