Color Throwdown.....

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge to use Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip & Pretty in Pink. I combined this with the Mojo Sketch challenge since I'm a bit behind this week & I think it came together quite nicely!

We had a great time in class last night....technique night is always FUN & I'm really looking forward to next week's 3D Mother's Day class!!

Well, it's obviously time for another Twisted Sketch LOL! Can you tell that I'm enjoying these sketches....it is one of my fave challenges besides inspiration ones so thanks ladies for another fun twist.......what's the twist? Add ribbon to your creation---tooo stinkin' easy as that 's my fave embellishment!!!!! I also enjoyed playing with my favorite punch and adding a bit of bling to that gorgeous rose! This was a total no-brainer for me since all the hard work was done & I truly enjoyed using my fave punch---can't you tell how much I love that thing LOL!!!

Watercolor Wash.....

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
My creation for today is featuring the watercolor wash technique. A few drops of re-inker & water in a cup.....*paint* your watercolor paper; let dry and stamp---eazy peezy!!! I also decided to use more colors I rarely reach for....Sage Shadow is severely neglected in my home although it seems to go with Chocolate Chip very well!! I spiced up the background a bit with my fave texture plate, sponged around the edges of my stamped piece & decided at the last minute to add micro beads to the center of my flowers. The Soft Summer set from the mini is fast becoming my fave set but looking at it; it just needed that little something more. I added the micro beads & colored them with my SU! markers....I really like the final result!!

On a seriously happy note, I won last week's Twisted Thursday challenge! I never win anything so I was so excited to get that email from Karolyn. I'm looking forward to this week's sketch....hopefully you'll all play along too!! Mojo Monday....

Happy Monday All!!
Gotta love mondays right.....especially when you can jumpstart your creativity with a pretty cool sketch!! My post for today is all about the Mojo LOL!!! I wanted to use some colors that I don't usually grab for so here's my More Mustard & Always Artichoke creation. The background needed a little somethin'.......I reached for my fave wheel--It's Beautiful. The additional layers needed to be defined.......I grabbed my rhinestone brads. The sketch called for something to be in that tilted corner----I made a textured butterfly...gotta have one on those flowers right?!!

I truly enjoyed putting this all together and I hope you enjoy looking at it! I have to get things ready for tomorrow's scrapbook class. We're making a very fun album....can't wait!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!!

My next card is for Jazzy Inspirations. This week's jazzy challenge was to make a card using Real Red, Basic Black, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa/Creamy Caramel & Whisper White. I chose to use Close to Cocoa even though I wasn't sure how it was going to work! I just went with the flow here and was smiling by the time I was done.... thank goodness those butterflies were easy to *rock n roll* hugh?

I had some serious issues with my pc yesterday! I was commenting on different blogs and then *wam* froze up, shut down and had to fix itself. I'm glad IT knew what to do but sent us into a frenzy!!! We're pc shopping now before this one completely dies on me....she's lived a nice long life but I think she's really starting to show her age!!! I'm hoping things go smooth until we can replace this one!

Without further ado.....the winner of my Inspiration Challenge is ANJOU aka Askagain on SCS! I had DH pick the winner because I was too torn---he called in backup...the children and they helped him decide!! Color Throwdown Challenge....

It's Color Throwdown day & this one was really hard for me! The challenge is to use Ruby Red, Basic Gray & Baja Breeze.....WHAT?!!! I didn't know how my card was going to come out....couldn't even think of a good sketch that would work for me so I just went with your basic square and kept adding layers LOL!! I kinda/sorta like the final result so a big THANKS to the throwdown ladies for a *REAL* challenge this week!!

Mojo Monday.....

I hope everyone had a very nice weekend and a blessed Easter with friends/family! Ours was nice and the children enjoyed their egg hunt....it's always fun watching them search the yard---sometimes I just wanna yell out where the hiding spaces are LOL!!!

Anywhhoooo, my card for today is featuring Julee's Mojo Sketch and I must say that I LOVE it although I have a confession to make....I'm a paper hoarder!! I have tons of retired paper that I think is just too gorgeous to use so I just keep it! Well, looking at today's sketch totally inspired me to use some of my Western Sky DSP.......this also gave me the opportunity to use up some more of last year's In Color--Blue Bayou. I'm so proud of myself for actually using my things instead of just *looking* at them! Two cheers for me LOL!!!

The kiddos are on Spring Break this week and it's raining today.......I have to find something to occupy their time so I'm off! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Blog Group & Twisted Thursday Cards

Happy Thursday Everyone!
I have a couple of cards for you today....nothing like a fun morning of stampin' right?!! My first card above is for the SU! Blog group that I'm in. Our challenge was to make a monochromatic card & do believe that I accomplished that with my uberly PINK creation! I couldn't think of any other color to use but I do like the final result...it's just really PINK LOL!!!

This creation is for the Twisted Thursday Challenge. I love the sketch that was provided & the twist for this week was to use the colors of pink--*gasp*, purple & green.....not bad and I LOVE the final result---although I feel I should've sponged some of that white space LOL!! I also jumped at the opportunity to use my butterfly die---love that thing---and textured them....can't have non-textured butterflies you know!! Thank you ladies for another fun challenge and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Color Throwdown Challenge Card

Happy Hump Day Everyone!
I know you're probably thinking that my posts are getting later & later right? In a sense you're correct but let me explain. There are certain challenges that I love to participate in on a weekly basis but I've been finding it hard to accomplish this goal. I've decided to make my challenge cards the day that they're posted instead of the day after. Make sense?

Now to answer the question from yesterday's post......the things I LOVE about those cards: they all have ribbon, one sparkles & shows me a new way to use that butterfly set, one used my fave punch & a really cool color combo....last but not least---the pink one shows me how to use that Vanilla Hardware & that card is layered like mine usually are....LOVE THAT!!!

K, my post is for the Color Throwdown challenge to use Pink Pirouette, Sage Shadow & Cameo Coral. Not an easy combo for me but after looking @ today's Sketch Challenge from SCS.....it all came together! Thanks ladies for another wonderful challenge.....I'm looking forward to the next one!!!

Mojo Monday

Did ya miss me? I missed you all and I couldn't wait to get back home.....the weekend was fun but very tiresome. I met a few SCS peeps & got the opportunity to see one of my girlfriends from highschool! Etsy Bugs & Kisses Revisited

Time for another Etsy challenge and the shop this week is fab!!!

The Etsy shop we focused on is called Lauren Alexander Art and the artwork/prints are just beautiful!! I had to pick the one above because of the colors and it worked so well with the sketch from Shirley's 2 Girls. I'm totally too late to enter this card but it was a fun sketch anyway! The twist from last Thursday was to add piercing....no problem---once again; it fits in perfectly with what I have going on!!!
