CAS Challenge Card

Woohoo, it's Saturday!!! Good Morning!!!!!
I hope you're all off to a great day! I'm doing laundry and we have left overs for a change!!! Things are looking up LOL!!

My card for today is for the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS. We had to CAS---make Clean and Simple you have any idea how hard it is to not add layers?!!! I must admit though that it was nice to sit down and make a card in 5 minutes and still be able to say---"How pretty" I used Inspired by Nature for my grass stamped in Old Olive, the butterfly out of Essence of Love stamped in Regal Rose & punched with different circle punches and a sentiment from Best Yet punched with the Wide Oval Punch. I added some Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon and I was all done!!!

Well I'm off to the laundry's never ending with 3 children and a husband with constant dirty clothes due to his job! I hope to complete a few challenge cards in between loads---that would be sweet!!! Thanks so much for stopping by & I hope you have a great rest of the day!

Mercy's Sketch & a Color Throwdown

I'm so happy to be starting the weekend...hoping it's really relaxing with just laundry to do LOL!!!

My card for today is featuring Mercy's sketch and the Color Throwdown challenge to use Basic Black, Brocade Blue & Real Red. Not your easiest combo if you ask me but I think I worked them pretty good! I also used a cute Bella image I received from my girl Dawn---thank you!!! Isn't she cute in her blue outfit?!! I added crystal effects to the puddle, her boots and the umbrella to give the illusion of her actually being wet....did it work LOL!!

Well, I'm off to start my day! Hope to finish a card or 2 before the day is out....wish me luck! Thanks so much for stopping by today.....hope the rest of your day is great!

SCS Double Challenge

Happy Thursday!
I hope you're all off to a good far so good for me!!

My card for today is for the Sketch & Color Challenges on SCS. The colors we had to use were Pacific Point, Baja Breeze & Garden Green. I tell ya when I looked at the colors; I didn't think my card would look right at all LOL! Then I remembered the technique I was teaching this month....Emboss Resist---perfect way to implement that *off the wall* color garden green!!! I'm truly impressed with this card after looking at the finished product & adding some black to tie it all together.

I'm working on Mercy's sketch & the Color Throwdown challenges today so that card will be posted soon....maybe tomorrow. Back to work for me!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

OCC Sketch

Happy Hump Day Everyone!
It's sooo cold this morning but I'm warming up by the second thinking about this evening....tonight's my monthly technique class and we're doing emboss resist. I love that technique and I hope the ladies do too!!

My card for today is featuring the sketch from Our Creative Corner.....thanks Jennifer!! I had so much fun making this card although the hearts seemed to have taken over LOL! Once I started punching those babies, I couldn't stop....there always seemed to be a space that needed one or there's the bigger ones screaming for a smaller one! I got to the point where I had to force myself to STOP PUNCHING LOL! I took a step back and said "geez" I hope they like it!! The colors are fun...who doesn't like pink, black & white?!! This baby will be another one for my Valentine stash......if you wanna be on my valentine list; send me an email and I'll happily send you a card!!

Time to get movin' and think of something else to cook! I'm so happy you stopped by and hope the rest of your day is wonderful!!!

Mojo 71 & Color Throwdown

Happy Tuesday!
I had a productive day yesterday and will continue with my duties of laundry and cooking LOL!! I also have to get ready for Technique class tomorrow.....really looking forward to a fun time!!!

My card for today is featuring Julee's Mojo Sketch along with the Color Throwdown Challenge. I received this image from Wish-RAK on SCS. I'm not sure who makes it but she is adorable isn't she?? I chose her because of the color throwdown challenge to use Black, Kraft & Pink Passion. I added a red heart, pink heart brads & sparkle from a gel pen to jazz it up a bit. Sorry about my bow....I tried to make it pretty but this will have to do LOL!

Time to do some major brain storming for my kiddos.....the parties are in 2 weeks! Thanks so much for stopping by......I hope the rest of your day is great!!!

Lazy Day.....

Happy Monday Peeps!
Yesterday was a very lazy day for me hence the title of this post. I didn't accomplish any of the things I set out to do with the exception of dinner......I relaxed and watched quite a few movies with the kiddos instead. We had a nice time chattin', laughin' and just hangin' out---the perfect day!!!

I decided to case myself to make things easier on me LOL! I made a card exactly like this about a year ago and just loved the simplicity of it. That cb folder is so pretty and makes your job of filling in *empty* space not so intimidating. It was not hard to just *leave it alone* after I was done putting it all together.....I'm usually fighting with myself to sponge some color or add embellishments!! Now I can finally say that I've accomplished a *simple* card that I'm truly happy with!!

Well, I have to get busy with laundry, cook another meal and start preparing my kiddos valentines....I'll be busy! Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a great rest of the day!!

Flowers for You

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Well, yesterday was a bust!! I did not go to dinner with DH because he went to visit a sick friend of his.....I decided to stay home & stamp! I made this card, stamped some images for a couple of image swaps I'm in and drooled over my new catty some more! I browsed my usual blogs looking for a sketch and maybe a color challenge to inspire me but came up empty on that too....

Sooo, I decided to go through my stash of images I've received from Wish-RAK on SCS and ran across this beauty. It's from the ss called Bloomin' Beautiful and I instantly knew what I was going to make. I pictured pink flowers dimensionalized on a polka dot background.....I was just hoping it wouldn't be too busy! I'll make sure to decorate the inside before mailing it so it'll be as pretty as the outside.

I'm off to start dinner! I know it's really early but with DH's work hours, I cook early so he'll have something to eat. Today it's meatloaf, mashed potatoes &'ll be gone before the day is over and I'll have to think of something else----oh the joys of having a family LOL!!! I hope the rest of your day is great.....thanks so much for stopping by!!!

This Image Stands True.....

Good Morning!!!
Ahhh, it's officially the weekend and I couldn't be any happier! I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation before getting back into the swing of things. I want to remind you to check out the Jazzy Inspirations blog and play along with us. You could be the next Jazz Cat of the week!!!!

I guess you're wondering about the title??? Well, I want what's in her hand just a bit fruitier please! I need to relax and she looks like she's having quite a time!!!!! Not an alcoholic by any means but once every couple of months or so DH & I go out to dinner by ourselves and I have my Pina Colada....I'm feeling the *need* for that right now!

Anywhoo, have you ever received a card in a swap and loved the image but not the rest of it? That's how I felt about Ms. Drinker above.....the *actual* card didn't appeal to me so I recycled the image to go with something else that I had created. I touched up her coloring just a bit, attempted to add some color to the stark white background and called it a day. She'll be brightening someone's mailbox soon and I hope she brings a smile to their day!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate your visits especially when I'm showing something that's not *brand new* Enjoy the rest of your Saturday! I'm going to check out a couple of challenges in hopes of sparking my interest so I can make something new for you all to enjoy......wish me luck!!!

Jazzy Inspiration #4 & MTSC27

Good Friday Morning Peeps!!!!
Are you as happy as I am that the weekend is upon us?!!! I'm truly hoping that I have nothing to do but stamp and get ready for my next few classes! Thanks for your responses yesterday....I'll just wait 'til the right occasion comes along and then I'll use that card. Never hurts to have extras on hand right?!!

My creation is for this week's Jazzy Inspirations Challenge. Make sure you check it out tomorrow to see all the design team's creations. For this challenge, we had to use the colors of Herbie Hancock's album which are Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White and Going Gray. I also used Mercy's sketch since I felt it was a perfect compliment to our challenge. Thanks Mercy!!

I'm off to get busy for the day. I hope your morning and rest of the day is wonderful!!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Love for Black & White....

Good Thursday Morning Everyone!
Wow, I'm really tired today!! Yesterday consisted of grocery shopping, babysitting, laundry and doing the last minute things for my class today. I don't think I took a real deep breath to relax at all and I'm paying for it right now.....I'll pop a few Vitamin Bs before I exercise & I should start to feel better....we'll see!!

I'm showing you a card I made for a sketch challenge on SCS. I actually flipped mine and used one of my fave color & white with a pop of red. These colors make your card very elegant to me and now I have to figure out what occasion I could use it for! I'll be thinking on that for a bit....any ideas?? I used some dp my friend Krista sent me along with some jewels I received in a secret exchange. The Embrace Life ss is gorgeously elegant & it's so easy to add just that *touch* of color. I really didn't have room for my sentiment when I was all done but I squeezed it on there anyway LOL!!

I'm off to another busy day, however; it'll be a lot slower & much more fun than yesterday!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day.

Thank You...

Happy Hump Day to you! I can't believe it's Wednesday when it only feels like a Tuesday to me...ever have that feeling??? Thanks so much for your concern yesterday about Lil' Reg! DH recommended the Oral Surgeon he used for his wisdom teeth and now I'm not so worried. Lil' Reg isn't concerned at all except for the fact that he thinks that the *female* race will consider him *off limits* until the braces come off LOL!!! Never mind the fact that he can't date anyway until he's 16(July)....I think he's scoping out future prospects!!!! I'm glad he won't have to wear them for a long time but I'm pretty sure it will be like torture for him!

Hmmm, my card.....wondering what to say about it LOL! I started out with this idea to make another Valentine's card and ended up with a Friendship one. I actually like the color combo of Kraft, Bravo Burgundy & Blush Blossom.....kind of messed up my sketch tho. Once again, I had this idea in my head and as I made the card; I started wondering what I was doing. I used another of my fave ss Upsy Daisy---lovin' those silhouettes, I think they're really pretty! Not sure if you can tell but I did ink up the blush blossom with the See You Around jumbo wheel to add a bit more detail, added dots to my burgundy scallop and punched holes in the bottom edge scallops. I had to have some ribbon & brads though for my final is pretty IRL and I hope the recipient enjoys it as well!!

I'm about to make my Chili for supper tonight in the that thing!! We have the perfect weather for this dish and it's very filling---can't beat that LOL! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

A Quick Look Back

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope you're all off to a great week so far!!

Geez I had a busy day yesterday! Took my oldest DS to the dentist to start the process for braces and found out that his wisdom teeth are coming in sideways!!!! Poor kiddo will have to have them all removed now before we can straighten his slight gap that he's developed....he really doesn't need anymore sick time as he was down for quite a while and is now back to being perfectly healthy. I think I'll have to time this with spring break if the Oral Surgeon agrees with the dentist. We also had our downline meeting last night so the only thing I stamped were my swap cards and I did that 4 hours before the meeting....told ya I was BUSY!!!!!

Anywhoooo, onto my creation for today! Since I've not had any stampin' time for somethin' new, I've decided to show you one of my fave cards from last year. I love the Essence of Love ss...probably because it's a silhouette style stamp and I thought it would look great with the It's Beautiful Jumbo Wheel---I think I was right about that! I LOVE how my finished card came out and the layout is awesome! This baby screamed for texture so I used my Cuttlebug and added some scrumptous ribbon.....voila! ALL DONE LOL!!!!

I'm off to complete a challenge or 2 so I can have something new for ya to look at! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!!

Taylor's Cupcake Sketch

Good Morning and Happy Sunday to you!
What a nice, relaxing weekend we're having and I'm truly enjoying catching up on my stamping...isn't that the best?!!

My creation for today is the card I made for the Demo swap I'm in. We had to use something from the Sale-A-Bration pre-order so I chose the ribbon bundle 'cause I love ribbon and I used the Delicate Dots DSP---isn't it pretty?!! I also used Taylor's Cupcake Sketch even though I didn't use cupcakes once again LOL! I used my most fave ss Heartfelt Thanks instead because I pictured a more elegant card for this swap. I threw a little bit of black in to even out the colors and I'm glad I did....I really LOVE the finished look!!

I'm off to stamp a few more cards and enjoy some quiet time!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

Brief Commercial Interruption....

Happy Thursday Peeps! box of catties came late yesterday and I was completely distracted by those things---actually I still am LOL!! Don't abandon me yet please...I couldn't get any good pics of the project we're doing today and since I worked on finishing mine before I was distracted---I didn't get a chance to make any new challenge cards. Add on the fact that I cooked, did laundry, babysat, shoveled my driveway and the entire sidewalk in front of my house and the next street over to my neighbors' home---we're on the corner....I totally didn't have time!!!!!

Sooo, I'm posting another creation from last year....for those of you that follow the challenges on SCS; you may recognize these Pixie Stick Holders or in my case...Chocolate Stick Holders! I decked mine out for Valentine's Day using 2 of my fave sets Happy Heart Day & Priceless. Added lots of bling, some flowers & ribbon....voila all done!!!

I'm really happy you stopped by today in spite of the fact that I haven't created anything new yet! When my class is over, I'll have the opportunity to create something before I stick my head back into my book....after I distract my kiddos since they're home from school today due to inclement weather. Have a great rest of the day!

DH's Valentine....maybe!!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!
I had a very productive day yesterday and just need to come up with a few more layouts for Thursday's project. Wish me LUCK!!!

My card for today is for an old sketch challenge on SCS. DH was supposed to get this last year, but he blew it BIG TIME!!!! He's been a total Sweetie for quite some time now so he just may earn this card on Valentine's Day. I'm keeping my fingers & toes crossed that he doesn't do anything to totally tick me off so I don't have to make him another *ugly* card LOL!!! His facial expression was quite priceless last year and my response was simply"You Earned This!!!"

I'm off to exercise, get things finished for tomorrow's class, do more laundry and quite possibly do some challenge cards. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!!

Color Throwdown & a Sketch

Happy Sunday!
We had a great time @ our cousin's home yesterday. Lil' Evan is soo cute and I enjoyed snuggling with him the whole time we were there....such a Sweetie!!

My first card for today is featuring The Color Throwdown challenge to use Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla & Mellow Moss. I added Chocolate Chip ink to level out the rest of the colors....hope that's not considered cheating! This card also features Taylor's Cupcake Challenge---I didn't use cupcakes this time either but it still qualifies!!!!!

This lil' guy is for the Color Challenge on SCS to use Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue and Garden Green.....what was Emily thinking LOL!! I really struggled to find *something* to help work these colors and that's when I remembered this ss Boatloads of Love. It all came together after that including my layout.....not bad hugh?!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

Jazzy Inspiration #3 & OCC Sketch

Happy Saturday Everyone!
My first card is for Jazzy Inspirations. Our challenge was to make a blue monochromatic card based on the album you see above. Easy enough right? I used Night of Navy & Brocade Blue for my colors along with Whisper White and some retired DSP from SU! Added some scallops, bling, ribbon & dots...all done!! Come on over and play with us...we love looking at your fab creations!! My card is also featuring the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You.....thanks Kazan---I love it!!!!

This card is for last week's sketch challenge on the OCC blog. They have really cool challenges posted every Saturday...if only I could get myself *unbusy* to complete these in time!! I'm truly working on that and will get this week's challenge done really early if things go as planned. For my card I used Purely Pomegranate & Pink Pirouette cs. I threw in a bit of black with my white to kind of balance it out and I do believe that was the right thing to do. I'm lovin' the Season of Friendship ss along with the sentiments from the new Level 2 Hostess set--A Little Somethin'-- so couldn't resist inkin' them up! I was trying to find a small solid heart to use but came up empty so I resorted to stamping those luscious lips from High Hopes......a truly *kissed* tree LOL!!!

I hope everyone has a pleasant day! We're going to visit our cousin who just had a baby boy....can't wait to see the lil' cutie & kiss those cheeks!! Thanks so much for stopping by.
